This thread reminds of me of an idea I had last year (2001) when I started training for my first competition. I lived in inland Canada with no training partner, so I started a thread about my training which I would update every few days. I had 2 reasons: the first, because some people were interested, and the second, to help inspire me in a competitive manner. It worked, and though I had no training partner for any event, I did manage to tie Eric F's Canadian static record.
What I'm getting at is that maybe we could use this thread (or another) as a competitive "banner" whereby we can inspire each other to new hights by posting any new PB's in static....this is not boasting: those of us that are interested in achieving new limits are usually very supportive of other competitors achievements.....as anyone that has been to a freediving competition will agree. Eric F was not intimidated by my performance; in fact after that we became good friends and he shared tons of personal research with me that has improved my diving immensely.
So, I hereby throw down the glove, and challenge all of us to a static duel, which will never end!
I still don't have a training partner, and I need all of you, so step up.
Cheers,
Erik Young
