The best preparation for CIPA Open 2005

Hi !

I shall take part in the CIPA Open (28-29 May 2005) and am looking for some advice ;

This year, I had nearly no experience of depth... I went once in February to the diving pit (20 m) and could quite easily descend with no fins to 20 m...

Last year my PB was 25 m (constant weight and sled) ; I feel I could easily have reached 30 m last year...

I train twice a week in a swimming pool... I did some comps (STA 3'33" ; DYN 71 m ; DNF 56 m) ;

Taking into account all this, a reasonable target for my first comp in constant weight seems 30 m ;

I should be very happy if I reach 35 m...

The least I can do to save my honour is 25 m...

I am arriving in Nice on the preceding week end (21-22 May) ; till there no opportunity whatsoever to dive deep...

At the best I shall be in Nice the 21-22 May, and at the worst from the 23rd...

I got registered to the 2 previous trainings (26-27 May) but I have then a first question : is it sound to train for constant weight the two preceding days ? Isn't it better to allow for some recuperation ?

I will try to train in the sea on the preceding week end but it is not sure that I find a room available (because of the Grand Prix de Monaco)...

Then I intend to train on the 23-24-25 May...

The main challenge for me is my ears... My left ear was aching a little bit in the swimming pool this morning... (http://forums.deeperblue.net/showthr...523#post539523) ;

What should I do on the 23-24-25 May ? How can I prepare best my ears to depth ?

Are there special exercises I can do from now on to train to constant weight without access to a diving pit ?

Thank you for your help ...
