I haven't used it for static yet, since I have no one to spot me, but I did get one of those cases to swim in the pool with.
I bought the 10' rated case for $49, which must be on some kind of sale through Iriver america. It makes long swims SO much easier that I no longer get bored counting the tiles on the bottom of the pool. It has changed my whole workout- for the better.
