Since we're talking about threadmill accidents...
My mother used to do stretches on the threadmill, control pannel being treated as a bar to put her leg on. One time her leg pressed the wrong buttons and it started working - overstretched muscle, had to take it easy for two weeks.
Yes I know, it wasn't very smart but mothers are always surprised when thecnology doesn't read their minds.
