Frenzel with Fluid?

I was just clearing my sinus with some salt water and decided to see if I could perform the frenzel technique with fluid (basically to see if I was actually doing the frenzel correctly). I could not get any liquid out of my mouth at all, is it just a natural body response to lower the soft palate if fluid is in the mouth? I tried everything I could to perform the frenzel with liquid but just could not get it. I have read Fattah's document on the frenzel technique, and I am able to get some powerful bursts of air out of my nostrils, but I am not 100% positive I am performing a correct Frenzel.

I was hoping you could give me the definitive answer as to whether or not it is actually possible to perform the frenzel with liquid, and if it is a good indicator as to whether or not I have the frenzel mastered. Thank you.
