I found it impossible to force water out of my nose. What finally worked was to empty my mouth, submerge my nose and draw water into my mouth (like reverse packing). If you immediately reverse when water is coming in, with the valves in the right position, you will be able to shove it back out. I'm not sure that this is a very smart thing to do health wise.
