UK there is a bit of info on MrXs spearing boat thread page 4.
I also have the 12' porta, I have really given it a bashing over the years with motors far bigger than recommended. We often took her out to sea, 3 miles or more! I also tried surfing her down some sizable waves, great fun. She only ever filled with water once & that was while surfing.
Of course porta botes have there limitation's & it would be foolhardy to compare with a rib or such like. But they are serious fun
