The closest spot by car is probably Newhaven; you can fish the outside of the harbour wall where good-size bass can be found in holes, plus you can park right next to where you will dive. Bognor Regis has very good reef areas and there is usually a competition there every year. Many years ago guys would catch decent-sized bass under Brighton Pier but not sure if it is still allowed. The outside of Brighton Marina is good for bass but check with the marina to see if you can dive this area.
