I used to do my best results at the end of something that resembles a CO2-table too. Or maybe O2-table...
...I used to do series of 4-5 breathholds before my max building up to max. With short rests inbetween. I just got fed up with this approach and started to go for just maximum right away. I tend to hit similar times or slightly better this way. Still I feel i havenīt found the best way for me. I guess experementing is the way, trying out what is YOUR best way. Personally I feel I havenīt been experementing long enough to even have a clue what is beat. I have only found a way to be consistant at what I find are OK-times. Still I am in search for a way to reach my potential, it feels like I am doing 80-80% performances quite often.
Maybe it would be good for you to try training WITH your contractions for a while. Since they come early you might have to accept them as a part of your breathhold. Still, if you donīt, i think training with contractions will bring another dimention to your regular way.
