sam, not only is the blue hole accessible from shore and deep, it is also protected fromm surf/swells to a great degree. ive been diving all over th red sea and have not seeen a place with similar conditions, except maybe some diving spots in ras mohammed, but then again attaching lines there is a different story
most of the coast starting marsa allam and going further south has very limited beach access (mostly coral) and the weather conditions are generally rougher than dahab...more open sea, higher swells
