Fourth, a c*ck extension? Why is catching a shark such a bad thing? Yes they are slow growing & harvest should be taken with some ideals of conservation, but that's true about all species. Like Neil said, grouper are also slow growing and people have qualms about shooting those. All reef fish are slow growing compared to fish like dorado. I have encountered many sharks throughout my dives and will probably never shoot one(other than self-defense); however, if someone wishes to take one to eat... I have no qualms about that. That's their personal choice and they're entitled to it.

Shark fin soup ring a bell? over 100 million sharks are killed each year for pretty much nothing. If sharks were not so overfished they would be treated the same as any other fish. The populations are declining rapidly and makos are one of the worst off because apparently they are "fun to battle."
