we eat moray in the Mediterranean, but I'm pretty sure it's not the same species you have in the Pacific Ocean.
Our moray is
Muraena Helena , never as big as the ones I've heard about from tropical people, and not affected by ciguatera.
So we europeans don't have the two dangers of becoming the prey, or of being poisoned from eating them. Careful with those Pacific murenas...
