I have been toying with the idea of a polespear with a breakaway tip that is hooked to a floatline for larger fish (20 lbs+). I have heard of a guy in Barbados that is doing it, but am not certain if I should use the travel spear I already have, knock out the nodes on the front end, and have that portion break away from the back portion, or start from scratch and work it from there.
