I did not used pathos open, i am sure its a good gun but we can not say its the BEST. They are is no best in spearguns, its just a like car some likes ferrari better than lamborghini or vise versa.
You can not use anything more than double 16mm bands on 6.5mm shaft. Other wise the shaft will flex and won't shoot accurately, will use energy as well due to osicillation during the flight. I used 3 X16mm bands once on my wooden esperasub gun (which is more heavier than any gun you mentioned) with 7mm spear and it did not shoot accuratelly due to excessive recoil. I did not used Tornado but saw it in shop. Theoretically its does not have enough mass and recuired body shape to absorb the recoil of 3X16mm bands.
So with 6.5mm shaft, you can use 2 X 16mm bands. That will give you 5 meter deadly range, even for very big fish. You can even shoot the fish from 6 meters if its not very fast species. Eg. dentex dentex...
with 7mm shaft you will need 2 X 18mm bands. You will need heavy gun with a good body design to absorb the recoil. Wooden guns or the brands that i mentioned before (BLEU or TRYGON) You are supposed to shoot almost everything at the distance of 6 meters with that setup.
