Re: Training blues

What I have been trying to do is to be realistic about the training I am going to get done, and not the training I think I should be doing. Once I know what I am or am not willing to do, it is easier to get on with training, because there is less frustration of 'I should be doing more' or 'I don't want to do this'.

What I will do:
- 5min/1000m rowing machine every day.
- Any work/college related activity.
- Pool apnea training once a week.
- Dry statics and tables.
- Reasonably healthy food.

What I will not do:
- Long periods of boring exercise.
- Swimming.
- Empty lung apnea training.
- No warm-up/breathe-up apnea training.
- 'Health food' diets.

I think this is easier because the psychological effect of doing training I really dislike is to make me unwilling to do any training at all. The boredom and frustration caused by swimming in public pools, or the extreme discomfort caused by empty lung training, make me associate training with being bored, lonely and miserable. When I am doing something like pond maintenance work, I hardly notice the physical activity, but the next day I am tired all over, so it must have been good training.
