Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client. It is free, it is updated regularly, supports modern web standards well and runs on MacOS 10.2 and higher and does support PPC.
It is a 17 MB download (you have to download all the intel stuff as well), which if you are on a modem might be painful.
