Re: Aluminum Stringer...Safe? Medical advise needed.

Aluminium poisonous? Really? Is that why Coke & Pepsi put all their soft drinks in aluminium cans. Factory cooked easy meals & Chinese take-aways come in aluminium. Heck, we even wrap the Sunday roast & bass in it. The British army still use alumimium canteens for cooking & eating (mind you our govt. doesn't seem to care much about them). Aluminium sulphate to treat ulcers? Anti-perspirants?

I've only heard of a tenuous link with Alzheimers. Heard one theory that maybe it had something to do with underarm deodorant. Sounds a bit of a stretch but who knows.

It might corrode in the sea if it is not anodized; aluminium naturally forms a protective oxide layer in air, anodizing increases that protective layer. I'd be more worried that it might not be strong enough - modern aerospace alloys seem pretty tough though.

It will for the fish!

Hey, we need lawyers too! You should definitely read this book: Letters to a Young Lawyer by Alan Dershowitz - it's amazing how many attorneys end up on the wrong side of the law.
