Wouldn't alcohol based fuel be more efficient than the oil? in addition to being cleaner burning? And fuel alcohol doesn't require that any thing be food quality. think of all that food that goes bad every year which could be fermented.
Think too of cellulose based fuels, essentially the ability to turn wasted fibrous materials into power. If i understand my chem right, the chemicals required to make these fuels are not any harder than shoveling dung or evaporating urine. Hey, its not a glamorous job, but it builds character.

Is anyone aware of any studies that compare the potential energy production of an oil producing crop compared to a carb producing one as regards land usage efficiency and environmental impact? Join my revolution- A STILL IN EVERY HOME!
