A real mystery, Eric. You got a good look at it and your pic doesn't resemble anything like a mantid shrimp, although it moved sort of like one and is about the right size.

There are some deep water amphipods about the right size, shape and segmentation, which look vaguely like the pic, but I don't think they are fast movers, not certain of that.

Could be it is something new.

Keep us posted if you figure it out.
