The first thing You need is a buddy. Don't play with this alone. If You don't have a buddy, then You don't dive.
As for lead, that is very hard to decide. It's unlikely that any of your current problems will be solved by adding lead, so I'd say no need for it yet, if ever.
Take a look at the thread on How to start freediving in this section of the forum. That will answer some questions, raise even more and likely answer those as well - at least partly.
