No current issues at the moment; but I was shooed out of the water by a large (not porpoise shaped) fin while surfing! Pretty classic scenario:
I was alone surfing a reef about 1/4mi / .5km out, when I spotted crashing birds about another 1/4mi / .5km away. I figured something was pushing bait fish up, but when the wind turned onshore, I smelled something dead (probably a whale, they get hit by ships here quite often). Maybe 5minutes later, I saw a large fin break the surface about 50yds / 45m away. Caught the next wave, and had the longest paddle back ever!
Glad to hear everyone getting wet! I'm hoping to dive this weekend.

reverberates - eardrums noxiously thrashed!

caused by its generator was enuff to make us not wanna dive. now i know how those poor whales must feel.
going to be at monastery this wknd - down in carmel freediving.
