Best course of training to increase bottom time only?

I freedive to spearfish. So what I am interested in doing is increasing my bottom time between 20-30 feet because that is where I do most of my spearing.

I am looking for the best way to go about training to increase my bottom time only. I have no interest or need to go deeper since the fish I am after are usually not much deeper then 20-30 feet. But what I do need to do is increase my overall bottom time at those depths.

I do not have access to a pool for training at the moment. If needed I might be able to find one. But it would be max 9 feet deep. Which is standard here in California.

So realistically what are my best options for training to increase my bottom time at 20-30 feet? Is there something that can be done on land? Or something that I can do while I'm spearing. (it would seem a shame to spend an entire trip at Catalina only training when I could have my gun with me and hunt at the same time )
