A long day's catch

ok. so again, we left Sharjah today at 5am. got to the boat in Dubai at 5:30 and were out in the wreck by 8:30.

the minute we get there, we spend an entire hour anchoring
anyways, so we hit the water b 9:50. the visibility was amazing, but the current was horrible. three hours later, not a single fish on our combined stringer.
i have just come off a cold, so my sinuses were giving me a hard time but i managed.
two hours later, and our first fish. my partner gets a two-bar seabream , or as we call it, a faskar. two hours more and still nothing, slack tide lasted for all of 10 minutes and the vis droped by half.
we decided to change location, so we went to the same wreck we dove last week.

the minute we hit the water, were engulfed by a school of small jacks. zero current. +20m viz. booyaaahhhhh!!
5 minutes later, the first cuda is on the boat. my partner insists that this time they will taste better. i dont care to argue, i want to land a large jack.
20 minutes later, im down 10m and i have my jack in my sights, i squeeze, and the shaft just bounces off the gill plate.

after that my partner gets another cuda and we call it a day.

overall a lousy day for me, but its better than being in the library working on projects
