Hi,

I have been spear fishing in Mozambique, I did not know you needed a permit.
I dived around the Ginjata bay area. It was september, there are lots of fish but currents can be strong. Coconut reef has bothersome bull sharks on it, they ate our fish regularly.
Island rock is great diving, but has a strong current. Don't shoot the big groupers, I did not. It is too easy and you have no use for 80+kg of dead grouper flesh.
On the south side of island rock 75m from the point, there is a small clearing, the rock drops almost vertically down to a sandy rock enclosed amphitheater at about 22-25m there are some big fish coming through there. Barracuda, tropical dorado, kingfish etc. The green job fish are not toxic and are great eating.
Whale sharks, turtles and big rays are a normal occurrence. Even if you don't shoot fish the dives are spectacular.
Green tree reef is further north. The reef is at 35m, but if you take a flasher and chum a little it will be sure to provide excitement. There are lots of fish and manta rays.
Further north its meant to be even better.
