Onefish, I understand the idea of using a second loop of string as slide for the Tovarich set up. It is quite ingenious; I wonder who came up with that idea. That set up would be completely silent and have the least amount of drag over any other slide set up that I have seen. I will check out those links as soon as I am done with this reply.

Greekdiver has the Tovarich set up on his gun and after watching some of his videos it does not appear that he has an accuracy problem with his gun. However since I like to shoot mostly goat fish while hoovering over their hole I require a very accurate set up that allows me to hit a narrow target from overhead. If the accuracy is not affected it should be a plus to have the line attached on the front of the shaft because when you hit a bigger fish you are less likely bend your shaft.
