I would suggest Blue Water Hunting and Freediving by Terry Maas. It's more geared to the underwater hunter, so you'll find it an easier read and probably take it cover to cover. It's a good one. There's no substitute for experience, so get out there with some locals and take it step by step. If you keep the focus on safety, depth and time will come. Us FL boys have gills anyway, right?!
