Well, since I took those pictures I've changed the tip out for one that is the same but shorter. My accuracy and range improved considerably.

I suppose if I were going for some monster fish I would braid a longer piece of line, but all it has to do is detach from the end of the spear to keep the fish from bending it up.

The only thing I don't like is that the fish tear them selves to shreds if you don't get a head shot. I think I lost 1/4 of a fillet to a crazy yellow jack once.
