Speaking of all things British, did anyone see the movie on Mary Whitehouse last night on BBC2? Bloody hilarious.

For those who don't know her, she was a lady that started a campaign in the 60's to get nudity, swearing and general filth off the tv. She was at it pretty much right up to when she died in 2001. She complained about just about every show on tele.

If you're a fan of the Goodies you'll remember an episode when there was an old biddy that complained about all the filth on tv - that was a pisstake on her. In fact, in the 70's, one of the few shows she actually complimented on being good wholesome fun was the first series of the Goodies. The Goodies themselves were a bit insulted about this & were worried this would affect their image so they set about adding more smut into the show in order to get a complaint. They even did the pisstake episode which really went to town on her but she didn't respond. In the end, they finally got their complaint from the Saturday Night Grease episode with Tim Brooke-Taylor dancing in his undies with a carrot on the front.

Anyway interesting part of British telly history and a great doco/movie.
