There are many variables. I am 6' 225lb with a thick one piece wetsuit. I use 24lbs to be neutrally buoyant at 30' in cold 46-52F saltwater. I tend to work at 30' and only go to about 40'. If I was working at 20', I would need more weight. I did not calculate it. I got in the water and tested it. I would use less weight for going deeper than 40'.
