Re: Serious about Seafood? Billingsgate Fish School.

I met one of the trustees of the school last year. He was clearly passionate about his seafood, we had a good chat. He likes Rick Stein (I didn't like to mention Padowstein's prices were a factor in me taking up spear fishing!*). Although I grudgingly concede that Rick has probably help popularise/raise awareness of quality seafood in the UK and Cornwall in particular. I prefer River Cottage Gone Fishing / Floyd on Fish.

Anybody see Looe on Coast yesterday evening? Apparently all the fishing from Looe is done from small day boats, because of the shallowness of the harbour, so they have gained reputation for unsurpassed freshness and quality. I had a fantastic lemon sole there a few years ago - perhaps that's why (and half the price of Padowstein).

*In hindsight, it would have been far cheaper to pay Rick's prices than take up spear fishing. Less fun though.
