Cool Re: Dubai Diving, Spearing

dont want to spoil your day, but the diving in Dubai is not that good. as far as i know it used to be about 4 years ago, but due to the dredging for the Palm and the World projects, the alterations they are making for the dolphin sanctuary and other various projects, the visability is between 0.5m and 2m. i have been on a wreck 10min off the Dubai coast and it was about 10m vis (but that was a very very lucky, i was told). you will have to drive at least 1 hour east or west to find good vis, (if i am wrong someone please correct me as i dont want to have to keep driving so far, if i can help it)

probably the best peaope to ask with regards to the quality of diving is Phil.oshea@jumeirah.com, he runs the Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dive Pavilion, or maybe island_sands@yahoo.co.uk, Sara lives in Dubai and i believe she dives frequently.
