AIDA Judge in Learning Course
August 2 -3, 2004 in Vancouver, BC AIDA's 16-hour Judge in Learning program that is the foundation for developing the skills and knowledge to become a judge for freediving competitions and record attempts. Further practical experience with competitions and records is required in order to become an International Competition and World Record Judge AIDA President, Sebastien Nagel will be conducting this program prior to the 4th AIDA World Freediving Championships in Vancouver, Canada. Schedule Monday - Tuesday, August 1st - 2nd, 2004, 8:00am - 6:00pm, class, pool & open water Judge In Learning Competition Experience at 4th AIDA World Freediving Championships for those interested. Tuition & Materials The cost of the course is $400 USD. Tuition includes the following: AIDA Judges Registration fee AIDA Judges Manual All class, pool and open water sessions AIDA Judge In Learning Prerequisites Minimum age of 21 Current first aid and CPR within two years Act as an official, safety, coach or competitor at any AIDA competition with constant ballast Knowledge of recreational and technical scuba diving an asset AIDA Judges Course Content Introduction to AIDA philosophies Theory on AIDA Team and Individual Competition regulations Theory on AIDA regulation for Recognition of Records Theory on the surfacing/end of performance - Blackout/Loss of Motor Control Theory on dispute resolution and the Judges Committee Theory on disqualifications, penalties and sanctions Theory on the organization of a competition and technical issues Practical application on time, distance and depth determination Practical application on the judgment of time, distance and depth disciplines Practical application on in-water rescue procedures
