And now for something slightly different . . .

This is a picture of my new gun, a hybrid teak/titanium by Poseidonsub. Notice that it is neither a rear- nor a mid-handle but rather something that, due to a severe lack of imagination, I call the 3/4 mid-handle design. This is Steve Veros original idea and I think it makes a great deal of sense. The handdle is mortise-and-tenoned into the stock. No stronger joint is possible. Note the rear mass that is weighted to balance the forward weight of the spear and bands. I am seriously looking foreward to giving this thing a serious workout in the coming months. Anyone want to come along?

BTW, Steve is currently building these purely as a hobby but if it turns out to be as good as it looks, he may have to go pro. Sign up for yours before the price goes up!

For anyone interested, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the contact info. I have no feduciary interest, etc . . .

Until we get the pic fixed, click on Colin's left-hand shot for a similar view to the one I'm trying to post!

This picture thing is very annoying!

Re: And now for something slightly different . . .

Nice. It sure looks heavy enough to handle three 5/8" bands without flinching.

Interesting gun, I really have to try out one of these mid handle guns sometime.
I have only ever used euroguns but I would like to experience another type of gun before I order my tuna cannon.

Re: And now for something slightly different . . .

About the handle placing- that looks about like the Wong "rear handle plus" placing if I'm not mistaken. I don't have any of them and I think I've only seen one or two, but he offers a series with the handle a bit back of mid-handle too.

Edit- now that I look at the photo again, his handle may be a bit farther back than your's, but I'm not sure.

Re: And now for something slightly different . . .

Sarge sent me his photo to see if I could play with it with Photoshop and get it to post. Lets see if I can.

I guess so, but we need to cut those vines Sarge.

Thanx, Bill. Maybe when I get it in my hands and can use my own camera I'll be able to do a better job . . . maybe!
