Hi, I'm a Norwegian student who are going to Thailand in a couple of weeks. We are going to stay in a place called Hua Hin.
But I was wondering if someone who has been there could tell me a bit about things to do? I'm especially interested in diving. Are there any good diving/snorkelling spots near Hua Hin (I don't want to drive for more than 1-2 hours). It doesn’t necessarily have to be a place where I’d need a lot of diving equipment (rather not, because I’m going there with my whole family, and they prefer just diving goggles). But I’m afraid that when we come to Hua Hin we can’t find anything to do… And we'd better 'cause the plain tickets cost a lot =) I appreciate all help ![]() |

I haven't been to Hua-hin.
In general, the diving is better on the Andaman side of Thailand (west coast and islands), than the gulf side (east coast). The east coast might have a shorter season regarding weather. You'll have to check it. Lonely planet has a diving/snorkeling book about Thailand, or maybe SE-Asia itself, I can't remember. It might not be extreamly acurate, but will give you some answers. I suggest you might also try posting on the net on some Thai (scuba) diving forum, and might get a few answers there. |
