Nocturnal

Loopy you beat me to the punch on that last one.

But that's okay:

Is that more good English beer Sharky? Some classmates of mine couldn't get enough of it.

Lagniappe? It's a type of beer? Hmm, interesting, will there be a practical test?

Escalators

Now that I think of it, 'Lager' would have gone just as well. Maybe next time.

I'll have to try wet statics soon. My posted times were all dry. In high school I did 20 meters without fins, but it's been a while.

Yeah, you should be making at least 30 no fins now... there's a great thread on streamlining that's got a lot of input from David Lee (former unassisted record holder) that gives some top pointers on technique, I just can't remember which one it is!! And remember with your wet statics, take a mate to watch you hey. Organise some sort of tapping system where he taps you at certain intervals and you signal back to show you're OK. Also in the water, it's a lot better with a wetsuit, you wont freeze to death Sorry if that's stuff you allready know, but we'd all rather see people training safe than sorry

Technique? that's an idea... When I did my 20m, I was just struggling from one end of the pool to the other. I was planning on looking around on this site for more safety tips, but if you feel like dropping a few more I'd appreciate it.

But it would help if I had a pool available....

Here's the thread I was thinking about: http://forums.deeperblue.net/showthr...threadid=25669

It's pretty good, explains it really well for gumbies like me The other thing I can suggest is to download the videos of David Lee's 51m and Topi's 60m dives... David's is at www.apneablue.com and Topi's is on the FREE site. If you've got any specific questions, PM/email me (b.drew@adfa.edu.au) and if we can't work them out together we can throw a new post up

I couldn't believe how that guy moved. I also noticed that he performs something similar to the breaststroke, but with a ducking motion like the butterfly. I'll know how well it works if I try it.

Man, i just stuffed a 4 mins static attempt!! I was going good for me, but in my warm up I only did a 3 min rest before max instead of 5... damn damn damn!! Ended up with 3:46, so that's still +0:05... consistent
