Geeez! It is about time you all stopped slackin' off and started getting our message count back up. I was beginning to think that everyopne had deserted me or something!

BTW BatRay, us students are the root of all evil (yes, I am a student too) but at 3 months shy of my 40th birthday, I am probably a little different than the students you had in mind. They are probably not Masters Candidates....

<SLAP!>

OK, young pup, you'se askin' for it now! For your insolence, you get a sea story.....

I was in my late 20's for the first Gulf War and, instead of going to the desert, I was one of the "lucky ones" that got to stay home (in D. C.) What that really meant was that while the guys (and gals) in my unit were in various parts of the desert in interesting cities like Ryiadh (how ever you spell it), Cairo, Tel Aviv, etc. in nice hotels (seriously, I was working at the House at that time and the Pres doesn't EVER sleep in a tent!) and enjoying 8-12 hour days and then hitting the pool, the sites, whatever, I was taking care of the shop back at home, doing all the network repairs and maintenance, getting replacement equipment shipped out, etc., working 20-26 hour days and finally ended up hitting a concrete barricade on the Intersate on my way home one day (fell asleep at the wheel) and rolled my truck. Spent the next 4 days at the Naval Hospital until they were sure that the black circles under my eyes really were NOT caused by the accident (although the X-Rays showed no broken bones or anything - Thank God for seat belts!) but were a simple result of too little sleep. From my entire unit of 350, there were 17 of us left in DC, including the 7 people I had as my Network Operations staff for a 24x7 NOC with 2 people per shift on a 12 hours on- 12 hours off, three days on three days off rotation. I was (as an E-6) the senior person in the unit left. Normally, the unit commander was a Major (officer-type) but they were all catching tans....

YOU on the other hand, at that point in time, were probably about ready to go to 3rd grade!

BTW - Just kidding about the Karma.... this time! :

and, no, I haven't tried the Languid quiz. My new class just started yesterday (Internetworking and WAN desing) so I don't have too much time for extracirricular activities.... This one I do from the office mostly....

Recalcitrance Come on, you Slackers!

Now you are REALLY in trouble! :

Nope, I was Navy. E-6 in the Air Force would be a Tech Sergeant, in the Army also a Tech Sergeant, in the Navy Petty Officer 1st Class, in the Marines - really an old guy.....

Conferring was it Adrian?
