Starting out near asinine rally. The plans are set, the fire is to be lit this upcoming weekend. We have furniture, yard waste, construction debris, assorted flammables, weenies, beer, Knob Creek, and of course matches. This shall be a true fire of magnificance!!! Oh, almost forgot, half a spool of 5/8 cable to set up a zip line and maybe a tightwire. Got a barrel big enough for at least some of the kids to fit into. Next weekend, yes next glorious weekend....

Can apes ruckus on under sky in night glorious? We have these things about every 6 months or so. Not a lot of drunken revelry or anything, just enough whiskey and beer to enjoy without hope of hangover. The barrel roll is an old trick. We have used winches on 4x4 and a tree before to set up a tightrope (requires just enough whiskey to relax)or one of those 'flying foxes', except that ours are not so high tech- you stop by dragging/ flopping across the ground as the truck gets real big. This one we will leave up. Last year our thing was a mechanical bull- a steel barrel with 4 rings welded on and 4 ropes to hang it from 4 posts or trees. Then one idiot (we always have an extra one about) climbs aboard and 4 close friends grab the ropes and pull violently. Of course there is the obligatory 'fire jump'. Some fireworks, some "4x4 muddin" as the hicks may say, quads, ambush wrestling, and nobody is allowed to cuss. Good wholesome get-together shin dig. Also, as more have moved out to the 'country' to escape the 'crazy' city life, and in the process disturbed the peace and clogged up the roads with new lighted intersections, it is good to make a little noise for them. Call it ambiance. Just picture a few old couches set around some 20 foot high flames in a pasture near some woods. And all that other good stuff too. After the flames go down, we sacrifice the couches, and the party goes on.

Couches around 20ft high flames? I think Homer would say "MMMMMM Couches, MMMMMMM Flames" Sounds like good wholesome fun to me. Have a great time

Giant Orange Octopi Float Yonder
Went for the first dive in awhile today. Beautiful clear sea. Got my gear configuration worked our finally, and equalisation was easy. Shot some good fish(with my camera). I was just on the edge of a marine reserve and it seems to be making a difference. Can anyone identify the fish in the attached photo?
