The bends!!!!!!

Last weekend I did my deep diver course in portland dorset and over the week my lower back and my hips have been in sheer agony. But I don't no if this has been becuase of a bend or I did some hing at work.

You see, you read the course book and you know the symptoms and the signs but this has come on over the week to the point on friday I could hardly walk

So a hot bath did not help that night but a big bag of frozen peas the next morning did so that makes me think may be not, but hey I am no doctor I can go only on what my body is telling me and becasue I am a bloke I did not see a doctor so as not to look like a complete prat if I was wrong.

I do know some of you will be saying I should have gone anyway but I just don't know?

Not bends

I have been informed by a very experienced source that if a person is going to be affected by DCS ('the bends') post-dive, likely the symptoms will manifest themselves within the first hour topside.

Also the bends are not alleviated by movement, heat, cold or anything. And they tend to get progressively worse with time, they will not 'go away' on their own.

Not bends. You probably pulled or strained something that your dive stressed further, and it merely took some time to settle.

If you're still not sure, get yourself checked by a doctor, preferably one familiar with diving medicine.
