My freediving highlite!

Hi All

Had to share this!! I have had many highlites in my freediving, it is very difficult to often select just one moment, such is the beautiful nature of this sport in which we take part.
First fish, various 'landmark depths', etc etc all come to mind, but this past weekend will stay in my mind for ever.
I have a 7 year old son Taylan, who has swum a bit at school, but never snorkelled or spent any time underwater. On Saturday I invested in his first wetsuit, mask and fins, and took him to our local 5 meter pool to introduce him to snorkelling.
By the end of the weekend, he was duckdiving and finning down to about 3 meters, until the buyoncy of his suit popped him back to the surface, and he ended off with 3 'No Limits' dives. He held my weightbelt with one hand, equalised with the other, I let go the belt and he rocketed down to the bottom like a 'sled'! Hitting the bottom at 5 meters with me in pursuit, he dropped the belt, and cruised back to the surface.

One very chuffed Dad!

Thumbs up Re: My freediving highlite!

hiya bluecape
say hi to the new freediver
you remind me myself same as with my 8 years Hagar
in the pool she did 4 meters no suit no weightbelt she can stay 45 sec
the little kid Asaf 4 years of age can hold up to 35 sec
but no diving deep yet
we went snorkling in the red sea they liked it more then all the fun we had
important to teach from young age & to give them love & respact to the sea
