Nipples and Fish Sizes!

It has come to our attention ( see Guernsey 2008 thread, http://forums.deeperblue.net/guernse...tml#post692392 )

that the average handspan is around 8 3/4 inches, or about 21cm, which is useful for measuring the approx. size of some flatfish such as sole, before spearing them, in case they are close to the legal minimum ( although we prefer to be well above this wherever possible).

However, it is also said to be the average distance between a person's nipples ( of either sex) which, whether true or not, can be a good conversation point at parties.

I wondered what the general consensus is - a poll would provide useful scientific data, although I'm not familiar with posting them.

Come on man, anatomy is anatomy is all different. What about those with third nipples? do they form a perfect iscosoles titangle? When i was lifting, i could flex my nipples all different directions. I wear a 52 long. My firm man boobies, spread apart as they are, would put me at a distinct harvesting disadvantage! Please don't convince anyone of consequence to instate a nipple measuring rule!

At first aid/CPR training a couple of years ago, someone asked "What about chest compressions on, you know, ample women. Wouldn't that be akward and inefective?" to which the medic replied "Don't worry, they'll flop out of the way." without even flinching.

Initial research has shown that although nipple widths can vary by a few inches, the handspan width is much more consistent. As for third or even fourth nipples, I hadn't thought of that, but would also be interested to hear from anyone thus blessed.
