The snow is finally starting to melt off out here and im going nuts waiting for enough dirt to show so i can take the ol jeep out for a spin.
it's a 76' CJ-5 that my dad has had since colledge and over the years him, my uncle, and I have been adding to it untill it's become pretty trtick. so far we have: dana 44 30 spline single shaft axles. the back axle is actually a reversed front axle so we get a better driveline angle and clearance. 33x12.5 Wrangler MT/R tires Leaf over lift 1 inch spacers full Teraflex springs and shackles front and rear air lockers Dana 300 twin stick transfer case T18 tranny with granny gear thats been dropped 6 times full roll cage Patriot winch twin pipe flomaster exhaust throttle control on the gear stick so you dont have to run 3 pedals when you're almost vertical adjustable electronic fuel pump so you dont flood when crawling. other random odds n ends. All together I have a ratio 0f 66:1 when in 4 low and about 7 inches of total lift and the teraflex stuff gives me some crazy articulation. I don't have any pictures right now but ill try and post some as soon as i can. How about the rest of you guys? do any of you have some sort of off road rig? Oh, by the way did any one go to the easter jeep safari in moab this year? i heard it was pretty sweet ![]()

Those old cj's were great !...with a good lift on'em,even if it rolled it would end up right side up like a cat 99% of the time. I'm probably about your dads age and had alot of fun in the day ba-ha ing with my hunting buddy in his.

I've got a 1995 Nissan Pickup 4x4! I bought it because I have always had cars, but got into diving, and now I don't think I could be without it! Its got a couple things nothing serious, but its a very capable rig off road! No lockers so not so much a crawler, but it can climb just about anything.
Mods are: aftermarket heim jointed steering centerlink Rear add a leafs Front torsion crank 31x10.5x15 tires toolbox Dive flag sticker on back window ![]() Thats an amazing low gear. I think mine is somewhere around 37:1 in 4 low. Makes that 4 cyl do just about anything! Just for reference, a 2001 or so Hummer H1 beta is only geared 44:1 Last edited by Crazys13; March 26th, 2008 at 12:45. |
