Re: F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

I have never taken any other class than FIT but I was in the same class DeeDee took and thought it was great. The pace is fast, you have to be focused and ready to learn, not everyone can pass it the first time but it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to not only improve as a freediver but most importantly learn how to not kill yourself doing it!

Re: F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

After reading apena queen's criticism, and after her generosity in sharing her impeccable qualifications with us all, I have 100% confidence in the FITT freedive training program and it's instructors.
I would also like to take this opportunity to state, unequivocally, that I am perfect.

Re: F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

I don't recall anyone mentioning worshipping. (false gods???huh??) You are talking like a child.
DeeDee, I'm probably not smart enough to have an intelligent conversation with either you or Chris or probably the majority of the members here on DB,but a person like myself with just average intelligence can see that you have some serious personal issues. In the following quote you mention dysfunctional behavior. I happen to know a little bit about dysfunction. Someone much smarter than me came up with the saying "People in glass houses should not throw stones." I think you are way out of line, and I usually try to keep my bias neutral, but this time, I cannot.

Quote:
In closing, many times those we seek to love and support are in fact their own worst enemies and blinded by our feelings we justify dysfunctional behavior and choose not to see what is in front of our eyes, carefully study htat which you defend and you may see the shine may wear off All the Best-I / We are not all perfect DeeDee
To me, freediving is about letting go of all your personal bullshit and just enjoying the sea, mother nature, the company of others. I hang out sometimes on deeper blue to be with like minded people. Like you have said in your second post, "We are all not perfect". Cut the crap DeeDee and quit trying to be perfect. Try this on... JUST BE....
If you respond to this and expect a retalliation from me you will not get one. Life is way to short and I choose to not waste anymore energy on something so negative and petty. I genuinely wish you the best of everything. Send me a PM if you wish.
Tony

Re: F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

I've been following ALL of this and I for one (two actually) would be absolutely THRILLED to take either class...Like "apneaboy" said "send me to both classes and I'll critique them for you"....I'm with HIM!

I'm sure BOTH are classes are "money well spent"...

(Edited by Adrian - getting too personal!)

Apnea Queen, we are going off topic, but perhaps you could share your experience (i mean the one with changing sex, not the one with Martin Stepanek) with the member Deepdive who searched for info exactly on this topic and nobody really gave him any useful advice. Look at it in this thread: Using hormones and freediving

As for your issues with FIT - I really believe you should post the details, so that we all can judge for ourselves, and that Paul Kotik or Martin Stepanek (or anyone else from FIT) have the chance to comment on it (if they decide doing so). By hiding the facts, it sounds more like a slander, which is hard to defend against. I believe you that you had negative experience with them, but when you voiced it, you should disclose all the details, so that we can make up our opinion too.

Re: F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

All I'll say (for what it's worth) is that I greatly valued and enjoyed my experience with FIT. False gods they are not, just humans with a great deal of knowledge about freediving.

Which, you can only do in so many ways. All the instructors I've been with (my self included) pretty much teach the same things the same way save for a few variations. But we all prepare, breath up, duck dive, descent, ascent and recover. It's pretty pointless to try to patent these ideas. How much of FIT curriculum is directly from PFI and how much of PFI curriculum is directly by Martin I truly have absolutely no competence to evaluate. And I'd venture a guess that neither have any in this discussion - if even the persons involved in the split them selves do (at least objectively speaking).

I'm in no way defending any wrong doings of their part to anyone. If they really did that, shame on them. But this was my experience.

Oh my gosh! Which kool-aid? The purple or the orange? Tony said the orange was okay!

Re: F.I.T. vs. Performance Freediving

Lets change the post i'm bored of this. I'm unsubscribing, when my two free courses come please PM me. cheers in advance Martin and Mandy

I have to leave now because some old memories have surfaced. I had a bad experience with Kool-aid once, stop drinking it you fools, i dont really want to talk about it but obviously it was not my fault in any way because im perfect and only other people can be wrong. I have since started drinking Lucozade and since then i feel much better about myself.

The extra energy has caused me to start writing random comments/quotes on forums that only i truly understand because unlike Kool-aid Lucozade makes you super intelligent, some say intelligence can be in someway inferred by being slightly obscure but i just think im super clever now.

Byeeee, see you out in the blue xxxxx
