I was getting bored at the computer and am trying to work on my static apnea (my best is 2:25, which i set today during my history exam). so I made these two sound files of the tables. they give you a five second countdown to when it begins, and a five sec til the end.
here are the two tables i used O2 1.ventilate 2:00 static 0:30 2.ventilate 2:00 static 0:45 3.ventilate 2:00 static 1:00 4.ventilate 2:00 static 1:15 5.ventilate 2:00 static 1:30 6.ventilate 2:00 static 1:45 7.ventilate 2:00 static 2:00 8.ventilate 2:00 static 2:00 total duration 26:45 and CO2 1. ventilate 2:30 static 1:10 2. ventilate 2:15 static 1:10 3. ventilate 2:00 static 1:10 4. ventilate 1:45 static 1:10 5. ventilate 1:30 static 1:10 6. ventilate 1:15 static 1:10 7. ventilate 1:00 static 1:10 8. ventilate 1:00 static 1:10 total duration 22:35 so they are a bit shorter than most people would want, but for all us beginners they are great. to anyone who tries using them, the first countdown signals the beginning of the first ventilating, and then the second countdown is the "real" start I made these with audacity, a free program, in a few minutes, so anyone else could make longer ones if they wish |

There are similar programmes out already, but good effort.

ahh, a blown eardrum, that stinks. what I do with these is load 'em on the ipod and listen to it at night, or some other time that I am resting. doing it while reading a book would be good, or watching tv....as long as it isn't anything funny...
good luck with the eardrum |

Yes, there are several programs for static tables. Some are quite simple, others are more flexible, or having diverse additional features. You can check out 8 different applications for static tables here:

ahh, makes the time i spent making those feel a bit wasted. I still enjoy the ipod use though. but will probably be using one of those soon.

Actually, it's a table which guides you in helping to build up a tolerance to CO2. There are different sets of tables, with ones focusing on CO2 tolerance...and ones focusing on tolerating less O2. As Trux said above, you can find them in his database, or on some different threads here on deeper blue. Believe me, the harder the tables get...the more of a workout you get. Some freedivers even forego other vigorous exercise on the days they "do tables."
