Hi again Dave. Post on here and you should get a response. http://forums.deeperblue.net/uk-irel...ng-2008-a.html Maybe PM a few guys on that thread. There are some newbies who may be in your situation and Sunfish is a good guy and knowledgable. Should be someone who knows your exact area as well.

I agree with the Old Man: an experienced spaero from you area will give you the best input on what gun is best for your area. Makes sense.
However, I see that most of the guys from Uk/British Isles/Channel and thereabouts, who hunt moslty bass, mullet, pollack, mackerel, wrasse et cetera, are generally happy with european spearguns in the 75/100 centimeters range. I'm told that most of them happily adopted a 90cm as their main overall gun. In general, the Brits use a typical european gun set up: one single set of 16 to 20mm thick twin bands, or one single 16 to 20mm circular band, with a 6mm to 6,5mm thick single flopper shaft. Could it be your choice? If so, any of these guns in the 100/130 euro range will do good (in order of price: Cressi Comanche, Omer Excalibur, Seac Sub Thunder, Cressi Geronimo, Omer T20, Omer Cayman, Omer Cayman HF2, Seatec Gabbiano not to mention the more expensive ones (but it's not necessary to go top end)...

Look on the net, try and get a RA(rob allen), 90 railgun, very accurate and versatile and above all, it works even after years of use.
My first gun, which I still have and use is a 110 RA with 2 x 20mm bands, it's deadly accurate and I have never seen the spear stop in the fish. It does need some practice loading though. |

Go the rob allen!!!! I bought 2 about a 6weeks ago and love them, my main gun is the Caranx 100cm with single 20mm band and 7mm shaft, fast and deadly accurate, and rob was a pleasure to deal with. I'm sure your local distributors would be great too. If no local Roballen agents around then shoot rob an email and he'll get you sorted!
