Asso 75 Newby

hi all,

I'm new to spearfishing, just got my first gun yesterday, got an asso 75 after a bit of reading.
Went for a play today but it was a bit windy and the vis was about 100mm, but i thought i'd get wet and have a go at loading and see what its like to fire. I couldn't load the bloody thing though, i was afraid to force it too much as i wasn't sure whether there was a a cap in the barrel or something that needs to be removed (the white plastic bit is the cushion for the spear though isnt it?), plus it was choppy and i didnt want to risk a spear to the neck.
I'm 6'6" and big built so i have no problem reaching to load it, any advice? Is it just that the first time loading is a bit stiff?
Oh yea, and when you load it do you rest the but on your foot/the sea bed/where? Anyone in the Brighton area know any hot spots or fancy showing me the ropes?

Thanks in advance,

Martin.
