Rook help

i'm new to the sport and i need advice on equipment. I have a good set of fins and a mask that i use here in okinawa. I dont have a wet suit i use board shorts and i use a hawaiian sling and wish to upgrade to a gun. I'm leaving in a few months though for the states. Just wont the scoop on some good beginners equipment any advice would be helpfull thank you. -Kurt-

I would say a good euro style gun would serve you well.
i.e. Omer,Rob allen,picasso.

The euros work very well on small game and with extra skill(get closer) you can land the big ones!
They are also nice because they shoot straight right out of the box,and thats good for beginners.

One of the draw backs with some euro spearguns is they can be hard to load especially with beginners.
And that can make the transition from slings(or polespears) to spearguns more annoying.

But once you see the range of a speargun and the ease of landing the bigger fish,you probably wont mind the extra effort.
