Sporasub "Dessault" footpocket repair

Ok, so I finally got me a pair of freediving fins from scubastore.

A little background...the first pair they shipped broke in shipping, so they sent another pair free of charge. The first pair were also a bit too big. The difference in the stiffness of the footpockets is pretty substantial, mainly in the heel of the fin. Doing the old "hold the fin horizontally by the heel" test causes the new ones to buckle about the heel, whereas the old broken fins were more or less rigid.

Anyways...there's a small gouge out of the heel in one of the footpockets. I'm wondering if anyone out there can recommend a filler material for this? The gouge is a little smaller than a dime in diameter, so it's not big, but if it's easy to fill in without damaging the rubber, I'd like to.

Re: Sporasub "Dessault" footpocket repair

Used to use a product called "black bostik". When I was riding bicycles a lot we used it to fill in tread cuts on expensive tires, trying to get a bit more life out of them. So when I had a fin problem like yours, I gave it a try and it worked great.

The only problem is that I just did a quick search online and discovered that they're offering a number of similar products; I can't tell which is which. If you don't come up with any better info you might try contacting a distributor and asking for advice.

Thanks!

I've seen several products locally, like "Shoe Goo" or stuff like that...anyone out there used stuff like this to repair a fin footpocket?
