Hello there,
Iīve just bought a pair of C4 VTR blades, but now i have a bit of a problem: After many years using only Cressi fins (I have narrow feet, and i canīt seem to find anyone to sell me the ancient/detachable ones) i am not sure of what kind of footpocket to buy... From your experience, what is the nearest thing to Cressi... AND fits the C4 blades? My guess is Beuchat, but i have never seen pictures of C4īs with these footpockets. Thank you, Filipe Messias |

The old sporasub dessaults work fine on my, fairly narrow feet. Cressis also work fine. I wear both barefoot for one day dives or with a nylon sock for multi day trips. Of course, the dessaults are also out of production. I have a set of the old cressi rondines, but you would not want them. One is in pretty bad shape. Heck, they aren't old, I bought them new in 1980.

Aloha Messias,
I use the Beauchat foot pockets for my C 4 fins. I had gotten spoiled with the comfort of the Crssi pockets and the Beauchats are so close you won't be able to tell the difference. I buy just the pockets and mounted my C4's in them. They need a bit of tweaking but they will fit. The Beauchat carbons are pretty comfortable too. Took them down 45 m and back in the PFD clinic. Hi folks,
I've just ordered a pair of C4 flap 30 blades from scubastore along with some Spetton footpockets (there's some sort of co-branding thing with Spetton and C4 at the moment)... Curious to know how they compare to the Cressi footpockets - I've had a couple of pairs of cressis and I really like the fit except for a very slight squeeze on the widest part of my feet. Also, how do Omers compare? I have a monofin with Omer pockets coming too... Cheers, N |

You have to remove or cut down the T-shape rubber on the blade end. Furthermore, the pre-drilled holes in the C4 blades cannot be properly aligned with the ones in the Beuchat footpockets (i.e. you have to drill new holes [not recommended] or glue the blades into the Beuchat footpockets). None of this hassle is required when using the 'old' Omersub = Teknosport/Aquatic = Spetton, Sporasub/H.Dessault, or Omer Millenium footpockets with C4s Cheers Last edited by ulysses; April 7th, 2008 at 08:40. |

Aloha Ulysses,
Yes there is a bit of tweaking, but as an expeerienced diver, you know we are like horses. No feet....no good. The most important thing when diving is comfort and for me unless I have a good pair of fitting fins, it can be miserable. Here is Hawaii we are blessed with warm clear waters so its not unusual for us to spend 4-8 hours diving. The important thing is to find what fits you best and use it. If C4's fit in Omer, Spettons or any other brands that don't need "tweaking" more power to the diver. I've had my C4's for six years now and no problem. The biggest problem I've had is the rails of the C4 getting old and cracking off. If anyone knows hows to get replacements for those rails I'd love to know where to get them. Aloha,Daryl |

you could send a PM to our forum member Nata for that: her father Marco Bonfanti is the man who designed your fins and all the other C4 products. I think it could be great to put in contact two GODS of dive gear design like you and him...

I had to replace the rails as well on pair of C4 Falcons that were heavily (ab-)used for reef hunting (cut & ripped rather than aged). Cheers ulysses |

Aloha Alessandro and Ulysses,
Thank you for the great information. I am in contact with Mark L of Technosport often and will inquire about the rail replacement. I love my C4's. My first experience with C4's were actually with Omer Rekors when C4 used to make the blades for them My Reckors have the C4 emblem molded into the blades. C4 also makes one of the most beautiful carbon fiber guns I have set eyes on. It's like looking at your typical Italian elegance. Beauty with form and function blended in. To be compared to C4 is like a volkswagen to a Masseratti. I hope to one day design a hybrid as smooth and sleek like that. I look forward to seeing C4 repersented at the Blue Wild dive expo in Feb 2009 The Blue Wild Spearfishing Seminar and Expo Aloha,Daryl |

![]() Are you saying that the Speton Footpockets that are often sold "together" with the C4 blades are the same mold as the Omer Millenium??? EXACTLY as the OP mentions, I love the cressi shaped ('elegant feet' as I call them) footpocket shape, and want the same comfort on with c4 blades. I bought the Omer Mileniun runners, but, now they are thrown in corner of my workroom because foot pockets are too wide.. Thanks

As for C4 and Beuchat foot pockets - if you get standard C4 blades, it indeed needs an hour or two of work to adjust them, and the different holes remain a problem. I went through it, and after long hesitation I finally drilled new holes. One of the blades broke about a year and half later. However, C4 will ship you blades for Beuchat foot pockets without problems, so if you like Beuchats (I do), then there is an easier and safer way than adjusting the blades.
I would like to test Effesub's Master PRO Evolution foot pockets - they look absolutely lovely. Just a pity I do not find them in any local shops to try them. The price I found in online stores so far is rather steep (over 70€), and without the possibility to try them I am quite hesitant spending so much FINS - MASTER PRO EVOLUTION - Effesub Last edited by trux; April 16th, 2008 at 22:39. |
