Big fat toe

So, last fall I broke my ankle. Then, after it was healed up a bit, and I was fat from laying around for a couple months, I decided to start some exercises to get me back ready for life. While doing pop-ups (surfers probably know what i mean) I busted a toenail attached to said busted ankle which then decided to attempt to in-grow and infect (as opposed to outgrow and defect). I would send pictures, but i think i agreed to refrain from vulgar postings when i found you wonderful people.

Now my question; To fit my still tender and rotund little piggy, is there a fin that is a wee wide in the toe zone? The omers are just not cool on my already 13ee (47/48) feet, and i have a two week trip to the keys on the 1st of may.

I have looked online at picasso, beuchat, imersion, and mares. The spettons are interesting, but pricey as i would like to have two pair in the boat at different blade stiffness. My ankle is still at 80% and gets tired with too much work. But with the warm water and a few deeper shot opportunities, i would like a stiffer blade. So I'm thinking " maybe i'll get some green immersions and a pair of picasso black cammo...." Am I doomed to failure?

C'mon! You've posted enough on the Acronym game that we know better!

I don't much experience with different footpockets, OMERs fit well enough with a sock, my others are Force Fin adjustables. But, from living by rocky shores (and being a klutz), I've snapped and re/dislocated many toe bones, and removed enough toenails that I might be able to help, or at least comiserate!

For a big toe, I pad it up a bit, and use duct tape (yep - duct tape), to attach it to the next toe, for stability. Thicker boots / socks if possible too.

For a little toe, the same. Personally, my pinkies are so trashed, that I don't bother with them that much, unless the offending piggy really hurts, as it seems like the tape and padding just fall off in the water (see one of the many global worming threads about that), or gets stuck in the boot (and we're back to vulgar postings).

All that to say, not much you can do about the toe. Careful with that ankle!

Re: Big fat toe

Go with the Imersion. Their footpockets are the biggest in the toe area that I have tried or seen.
