Omer footpocket stiffness

Pay attention to the stiffness of your footpocket! I have recently changed my Pegaso blades from medium to soft and noticed that my omer footpocket is much harder then my friend's. In fact one foot came harder then the other, i mean the rubber rails that hold the blades. My intention was to get fins as soft as my friend's, but it did not work because his omer footpocket is much softer then mine, making my fins stiffer regardless of the softer blades. Anyone with similar problem or noticed that before? Are the 2007 footpockets stiffer then the older ones?
diffect maybe?

I have various blades (none Omer though ) mounted on Omer Millenium footpockets. I can confirm your observation: some pockets are hard as bricks some are much softer. Good knows why there are such differences from batch to batch.

Cheers, ulysses

Re: Omer footpocket stiffness

Put the same blade in an Omer pocket, a Sporasub, or a Beauchat and it will feel very different in each. Omers are noticably stiffer than anything else I've tried. My kelpies are hard as boards in the Omers and softly sweet in the Beauchats.

I have had the same experience with Picasso's. First ones were very hard, second set are very nice!

Re: Omer footpocket stiffness

this is really strange.. We shuld get a statement from omer here..
I myself have the hard omer footpockets. and have bought 3 different type of finns to try something different. but have hardly felt any change !
I kinda feel cheated here by omer !

Re: Omer footpocket stiffness

Personally, I'd like to see the manufacturers be consistent in manufacturing footpockets. I'd also like to see honest descriptions of the the stiffness of their blades and keep them consistent. Lastly I'd like to see them describe the width and length of the footpockets. None of them does a good job of any of this, and the sellers typically tell half truths and even lies about the fins.
CAn't we do better?
